Sanita Jemberga

Sanita is award-winning Latvian investigative journalist who has worked in the press and television since 1996. After the leading Latvian daily newspaper Diena was sold to local oligarchs in 2009, Sanita left and together with others from editorial team became one of the four founders and shareholder for the weekly magazine „IR”. In 2011, she received the award as Investigative Journalist Of The Year from Latvian Journalism Association and, burnt-out and disappointed , quit journalism. She worked for European Commission until 2014 when she returned to help run the investigative journalism center Re:Baltica where she serves as executive director and editor. Sanita also serves on advisory board of journalismfund.eu.
